Ingenico partners FINO for microfinance payment solutions

Microfinance Focus, June 23, 2011: Payment solutions provider Ingenico International India has entered into a partnership with FINO, a Mumbai based provider of integrated technology platforms and delivery channels to help FINO deliver payment solutions under microfinance schemes and the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA).
Under the proposed project, FINO (Financial Inclusion Network and Operations) will be deploying Ingenico’s hand-held biometric POS terminals to reach unbanked and underbanked regions of the country for financial inclusion schemes and microfinance agencies.Till date FINO has deployed over 25,000 Ingenico’s biometric hand-held POS terminals, a report in The Hindu said.
FINO has bagged the Growth Enterprise in Technology Sector Award at the recently held Sankalp Awards 2011. FINO delivers low cost in-house integrated technology solutions to institutions like Banks, Microfinance Institutions, Government entities, Insurance companies to enable financial inclusion environment for the micro customers.
