NABARD invites applications for 2010-11 Internship Program

Microfinance Focus, Dec. 15, 2009: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has invited applications from the students of agricultural or management disciplines to the Summer Internship Programme 2010-11 for studying in areas like rural development, multi-disciplinary projects, rural banking, institutional development etc.
The selection of the students will be made either through campus visits by a selection committee in consultation with the institutions being visited or by short listing / interviews on the basis of applications received at the Head Office/Regional Offices, said a statement on NABARD website.
Themes in economics, banking, agriculture and rural development relevant to NABARD will be given preference and topics like financial inclusion, carbon trading, natural resource management, climate change and environment issues, revitalisation of cooperative banks and alternative credit delivery system through micro-credit will also be considered for the study, said the statement.
Selected students will be paid a consolidated stipend of INR 8,000 per month during the period of assignment and a field visit allowance of INR 500 per day inclusive of all expenses towards lodging, boarding, local conveyance etc. during the actual period of field visit subject to a maximum of 30 days will be provided.
