Microfinance Focus, Sep 22, 2010: Oikocredit one of the world’s largest sources of private funding to the microfinance sector has recently made an equity deal with Georgian microfinance institution Bank Constanta, buying 13% stake in it for an undisclosed amount. This deal makes Oikocredit the bank's first foreign shareholder. Constanta has already received five Oikocredit loans since 2005, totalling around EUR 4.5 million.
